If you are on this page right now, then you definitely showed some interest in the chi curling iron. If this is the case, then I hope my story can help you decide if the chi curling iron is what you need. Please note, that my experience with this curling iron may be different than many others, but I had to warn you about my experience with it. I definitely do not want you to make the same mistake that I’ve made.
It all started when I stared at my boyfriend’s eyes as he glanced at my new hair look.
I went to a hair stylist earlier that day to curl up my hair for a wedding
that I was attending. My boyfriend saw the curls and he told me that I was very beautiful and that he loved the look of my curly hair. You see, I have medium-length dead straight hair that rarely holds curls. So it was definitely a surprise for my boyfriend to see me with them.
But seeing the way my boyfriend reacted to my curly hair gave me the desire to have curly looking hair often. So I went online to see if I can shop for a high quality curling iron that doesn’t damage the hair as much. I later found out from a few sources that the chi curling iron would do the job since it was a ceramic curling iron. Ceramic irons are suppose to give better curls without damaging the hair. So I decided to buy the chi curling iron from a very popular hair styling website that I will not name now.
I ordered the chi curling iron and it arrived on my doorstep 2 weeks after I purchased it. I decided to use the curling iron the following day to see if it works as good as they say it does. But to my surprise, I had a very different experience with it. As a matter of fact, I had a real hair breaking experience with this curling iron. Every time I was about to release my hair from the holding clip, some of my hair would get caught, thus breaking my hair. For some crazy reason, the hair clip was not designed properly and that was why my hair kept getting caught up in the clip.

Also, the barrel of the curling iron was too large for my medium length hair, thus making it a lot more difficult to curl my hair properly. And the weight of the iron doesn’t help either. The chi curling iron is heavy in comparison to other curling irons, making it much harder to hold and control. The heaviness makes it very frustrating to work with. Plus, contrary to the facts that were out there, my hair did experience some damage. So after all I’ve encountered with this hair styling tool, I felt it was necessary for me to turn it back in and request a refund.
So I contacted the company I bought the chi curling iron from in order to request a full refund. And can you believe that the company refused to honor their refund policy!? Yes, they did not want to give me my money back. After making numerous phone calls and threatening them with some bold claims, I finally got my money back.
I later used my money to purchase another curling iron. After several weeks of use, I haven’t had any major complaints about this curling iron. The only problem I have with this new curling iron is that it doesn’t create very tight curls…or at least the tightness that I am looking for. But on the most part, I love it and I plan to continue using it because it makes this hair curling process so easy. It doesn’t damage my hair and my curls usually hold for a long time…which is a big plus for me.
